Sir Raymond Ekpu, born August 6 1948 in Ukanafnn Akwa Ibom State has turned Septuagenarian today.

BA, M. Sc, OON, Sir Ray Ekpu is a veteran journalist and prose craftsman, prolific writer, renowned columnist, analyst, and informed commentator.

He was Feature Editor Nigerian Chronicle Calabar 1974–1976; Acting Editor Sunday Chronicle Calabar 1976–77; Editor Nigerian Chronicle 1977–1980; Editor Sunday Times 1980–1982; Editor Business Times 1982; Chairman Editorial Board of Concord Newspapers 1982–1984; Cofounder and executive editor Newswatch Magazine 1985; Deputy editor-in-chief and deputy chief executive Newswatch 1985–1986.

His writings have been published in several Nigerian Newspapers and Magazines, and foreign publications like the Portland Oregonian, Milwaukee Sentinel, New York Times, International Herald, Tribune, and the Journal of Democracy.

Sir Ekpu was decorated on June 3rd as CMC Chairman and part of the Advisory board, as well as Patron alongside Amb. Regina Inem, Astute Educationist; Amb. Clarion Chukwura, Nollywood Icon; Bashorun Dayo Isreal, a globally recognized activist; Mr. Don Pedro Agabi, Chairman AGN Lagos Chapter; and Diamond Adaeze Igwe, SA to His Excellency Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.

Sir Ray Ekpu has been one of the major mentor to the founder of CMC and Cornel’s Entertainment, Amb. Cornel Udofia, since 2008; inspiring him to emerge Nigeria’s influential publicist. And also a great supporter of this noble house.
